Safari rules, permits & ID requirements

On safari

  • Vehicles stay on marked tracks — off-roading is prohibited and fined by the forest department.
  • Keep a respectful distance from wildlife; don't press your guide to approach closer.
  • No loud noise, whistling, or calling out to animals.
  • No flash photography; drones are banned in every core zone without special forest-department permission.
  • No alighting from the vehicle inside the core zone, except at designated points.
  • No littering, smoking, or single-use plastic bottles — most reserves ban single-use plastic outright.
  • Safari timings are fixed by the forest department and shift with season — we confirm your exact slot ahead of travel.
  • Children under 5 are not permitted inside core zones at most reserves.

Permits & identification

  • Every guest carries original photo ID on safari — passport for foreign nationals, any government ID for Indian nationals.
  • Foreign nationals: passport number and visa details go into the permit application in advance; bring the physical passport on safari day.
  • Permits are zone- and date-specific, non-transferable, and capped daily — this is why we ask for ID well before travel.
  • No special wildlife-visa exists; a standard Indian tourist e-Visa is sufficient for safari entry.
